TikTok Engagement Calculator
Calculate TikTok engagement based on views: (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ views × 100.
Engagement rate (by views)
Ratings are general guidelines and vary by niche and account size.
How to use this tool
- Enter the view count for a TikTok video.
- Add its likes, comments, shares and saves; leave unavailable interactions at zero.
- Read engagement per view and compare videos using the same interaction types.
How it works
On TikTok, many videos are shown to people who don't follow you, so engagement is usually measured per view: (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ views × 100.
The result updates as you type and is labelled Low (under 3%), Average (3–6%), Good (6–10%) or Excellent (10% or more).
Use the numbers from one video or an average of several recent videos.
Example
A video with 20,000 views, 1,500 likes, 80 comments, 60 shares and 160 saves has (1,500 + 80 + 60 + 160) ÷ 20,000 × 100 = 9% engagement — rated Good.
Limitations
- Ratings are general guidelines, not official TikTok benchmarks.
- Watch time and completion rate — which matter a lot on TikTok — are not included.
- The tool does not connect to TikTok; it only uses the numbers you enter.
Frequently asked questions
Why calculate by views instead of followers?
Videos can reach people outside your followers. Dividing interactions by views measures reactions relative to viewing activity; it is a different measure from engagement per follower.
What is a good TikTok engagement rate?
This tool labels 6% to under 10% per view as Good for orientation only. Compare your own videos using the same interaction types; these are not official TikTok benchmarks.
Can I leave saves at 0?
Yes. Any field can be 0; only views must be above 0.
