RPM is entered in USD. The starting Shorts RPM is illustrative; replace it with your own Analytics RPM, converted to USD if needed. This is an estimate, not guaranteed income.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter Shorts views and your average daily Shorts views.
  2. Replace the illustrative RPM with your own Shorts RPM in USD.
  3. Choose a currency and read the estimates alongside the rate status.

How it works

Shorts revenue is estimated with the same formula as long-form videos: views ÷ 1,000 × RPM. The difference is the RPM, which for Shorts is typically far lower.

Enter your Shorts views and daily views, then adjust the Shorts RPM in US dollars. The results convert to your chosen currency with a recent exchange rate.

Monthly and yearly figures use your daily views × 30 and × 365.

Example

1,000,000 Shorts views at a Shorts RPM of $0.05 gives 1,000,000 ÷ 1,000 × 0.05 = $50. The same views on long-form video at a $3 RPM would be $3,000, which shows how different the two formats can be.

Limitations

  • Shorts revenue comes from a shared pool and depends on many factors; your actual RPM can be higher or lower than any default value.
  • The result is an estimate before taxes and fees and is not guaranteed income.
  • Use the Shorts RPM from your own YouTube Analytics for the most realistic estimate.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Shorts RPM so low?

Shorts are monetized differently from long videos, and revenue is shared across many creators and views. That usually results in a lower RPM.

Where do I find my Shorts RPM?

In YouTube Studio, open Analytics → Revenue and filter by content type Shorts if your channel is monetized.

Does this include brand deals?

No. Only ad-based revenue from views is estimated.
